So, on the basic assumption that I have NEVER made any of those mistakes (at least not once I'd actually left school) does that make me smarter than the average smart person? I do admit to making some fundamental spelling errors, but they tend to be for polysyllabic words like "unnecessarily" (and "polysyllabic" for that matter!) and let`s face it, those are hard words to spell on a chalkboard in front of a room full of students.
