Sunday, September 20, 2009 11:11:40 AM @lostinkorea If that statement wasn't so ignorant, it'd be kinda funny.Animals, before they are slaughtered, are rendered all but dead. They are usually shocked, no not through the ass, with a couple hundred thousand volts. After they're rendered insensible(which is required BY LAW), they have their blood drained from their body. They feel 0 pain and it's extremely fast. By law, you actually have to have a certified USDA inspector watch you slaughter an animal that's going to go on for sale.(Yes, even if you slaughter two or three cow). I'll assume you grew up in the city, so your ignorance on the subject is forgiven. |

Sunday, September 20, 2009 3:50:55 AM @ Supersmash Now, if you want to tell me to buy free range chickens or buy locally raised and slaughtered beef and pork, I'll listen. ______________________________________________ That's a start...then maybe all those corporate farms and the systematic way of killing animals will become extinct. It sure beats getting a huge metal rod stuck in your ass while thousands of volts of electricity are running through the poor cow while she dies a slow and painful death for a couple of hamburgers. |

Sunday, September 20, 2009 12:26:35 AM Meh.I've been in grocery stores from Seattle to New York City and have seen chicken feet in more than half of them. I've never seen duck's heads outside of Oriental stores though. |

Saturday, September 19, 2009 9:20:03 PM The duck head is definitely new to me, but you can buy chicken feet at most of my local grocery stores.I may as well give my 2 cents on the vegetarian debate... I'm certainly not a vegetarian, but I do think that if you are going to eat meat you should at least be able to watch footage of what you are supporting. If you are fine with the current regulations and rules regarding treatment of meat animals, then by all means, eat meat. As you can probably guess by now, I'm uncomfortable with the way chickens are currently treated. I only buy free-range chicken and don't eat chicken at fast-food places. The preachers are just trying to eliminate the "out-of-sight, out-of-mind" variable. |

Saturday, September 19, 2009 8:15:01 PM The duck head dosn't scare me. My mom makes "Giblet Gravy" every year for thanksgiving (She's British) and it's pretty tasty over a nice mound of fresh mashed potato (mm with butter/cream) but it uses the following parts from the Turkey: Heart, liver, Kidney (cooked then pureed in blender) and turkey neck (just the meaty bits) I wouldn't eat the actual head but cook it and take the meat off? Sure why not.
