Saturday, September 26, 2009 10:08:05 AM SarahofBorg almost poor is when you have £5 in the middle of December and don't get paid for 2 weeks and you have to pick between electric, heating or food. That's the worst I've ever been |

Friday, September 25, 2009 5:48:11 PM Well no, I own my own old-ass computer and pay for the most basic internet access. I do have some nice possessions I bought back when I wasn't so broke as I am now. And you'd be suprised what you can get from what people are just throwing out that's perfectly good. All my TVs were free that way. But what's more important is I only have a part-time retail job, about 75% of my money goes to medical bills, and it took me almost 2 years just to save for a $1000 car. And I'd be living on the street if the banks were more strict. They're giving me a chance to sell the place. I can afford food and clothes fine. Utilities, however, are extremely tough. So that's what passes for almost poor. |

And your not poor if you got a car. 1. "worse" not "worst" 2. "You're" not "your" 3. You would say a homeless person who lives and sleeps in his or her car that does not run is not poor because he or she has a car? I think you and I have different definitions of "poor" because I'd say a person who lives in a car because they have no money for a place to sleep is poor. |

I call shenanigans. Not really. Homeless people are allowed to come into our public libraries, which have lots of computers with internet. There is even a sign on the library door that says if it is hot out, homeless people are welcome to come in and cool off. So even homeless people can have computer and internet access free of charge.Your shenanigans request has been denied! |

Friday, September 25, 2009 9:40:35 AM "@SarahofBorgSo wait you're damn close to the poverty line, but can still afford a computer and internet access? I call shenanigans." That's stupid logic. You can easily access the interenet without owning a computer or paying a monthly access fee. Anyway again you guys have this view that you need to live in rags to live in poverty. |
