VIPBLAZ, I got so drunk on a golf course once, I tore tire and put my friend through the windshield (It was collapsable plexiglass) of the golf cart. It's a sport......... if you make it one. |

Lionhart: What is different about basebale is that every pitch can, And sometimes does, Change the whole game. Sure it's not as fast as basketball or hockey, So what ? Baseball has no shot clocks, No yellow cards, No penalty boxes. If you don't like it don't watch it, But at least respect the players and people that do. |

this is SOOO FN old! btw, Jerry Huntsinger (sp?) Jr. used this as a point of why national league needs to incorporate the DH instead of the pitcher hitting. I'm sorry, the pitcher could've hurt himself in many of ways, he could've hurt it on a routine ground to first. DH is pathetic, it says "we know this guy sucks at hitting, we only pay him to throw the ball to the plate" and takes away from the great pasttime. babe ruth was a pitcher who could hit, there are plenty of others in the long history, currently though there is only Carlos Zambrano (sp) that comes to mind.Houston Chronicles has some good writers, I bet they were cracking up over this one :) |

I love how they can write a sports article that actually makes baseball sound exciting, action-packed and thrilling. That takes real journalistic skill. Let's face it, its a bunch of guys standing around waiting for someone to hit a ball with a stick; the only sport on the planet slower is cricket. |
