@nonamewillfi slapping (hitting someone with the base of the palm of your hand) carries as much force as a punch and you get a wider area to hit with, so it becomes easier to hit but at cost of having to be an inch or two closer to the person you're hitting. And if you don't know how to throw a punch you'll probably screw up the rotation of your wrist and lose all the power of the punch as your wrist compresses, or better yet break you knuckles on his forehead. finally they get to the kids mom
look... it's not like we are teaching him how to punch...
